Important Update: Changes to Collaborative Hub Access Services and Data Offer

11 Oct 2023
Dear Collaborative Data Hub User,

We want to inform you of some important changes to the Collaborative Access Hub service that will take effect by November 1st, 2023. The Collaborative Access Hub Nodes will start to synchronize and serve the data directly from the Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem, whilst the Open Access Hub and other related services are decommissioned.
The availability of the Collaborative Access Hub Nodes have been extended until the end of 2024 in order to provide additional time to the CollGS partners to adapt their workflows towards the Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem.

ColHub Node 1 IP Address Change:
Starting from November 1st, 2023, the ColHub Node 1 will undergo an IP address change. The new IP address will be 64.255.138.25.
In case you are using the IP address please be prepared to update your configurations accordingly to ensure uninterrupted access. ColHub Nodes 2 and Node 3 will not change.

Collaborative Data Offer:
We want to bring to your attention the data offer:
New Sentinel-5P Collaborative Hub:
Starting from November 1st, 2023, the Sentinel-5P data will be made available via a dedicated Sentinel-5P Collaborative Access Hub at https://s5pcol.copernicus.eu.
Please make a note of the updated URL because the Sentinel-5P Pre-Ops Hub will be dismissed by November 1st, 2023. The Sentinel-5P Collaborative Hub will provide a 3-week rolling of fresh data.
We are pleased to announce that the Sentinel-5P Collaborative Hub will remain operational until the end of 2024.

Sentinel-5P Personal Accounts:
As part of these changes, all Collaborative users will be provided with individual personal accounts to access Sentinel-5P data on the Sentinel-5P Collaborative Hub. Separate instructions and details regarding personal accounts will be sent to you shortly.

It has been noted that due to the design of the new Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem, the Sentinel-1 (SLC, GRD, RAW) data are being disseminated in an uncompressed format. This will result in an increase in volume of the data to be transferred.

We understand that these changes may impact your workflow, and we are committed to ensuring a smooth transition.
Should you have any questions or require assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out our support team at colhub.support@copernicus.esa.int

We appreciate your continued support and collaboration as we strive to enhance our services. Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to serving you with improved offerings on the Collaborative Hub.

Best regards,

The Data Hub Service Operations Team

Unexpected deviations from the Sentinel-3B reference ground track

28 Sep 2023
The actual ground track orbit of the Sentinel-3B (S3B) satellite has been observed to violate the nominal dead-band of +/- 1km from the reference orbit over different periods of the year 2023 as you can see from the figure here below.

The left axis of the plot corresponds to the maximum ground track deviation w.r.t. the S3B reference orbit only if > +-1 km (so violating the dead-band), when the right axis corresponds to the latitude for those violations.

In the case of S3B, the dead-band violations occur over every latitude band, and quite frequently in August 2023 when crossing the equator.

Phase out of the Copernicus Data Hub Services - September 2023

21 Sep 2023
As previously announced in January, and started in July, the Copernicus Data Hub distribution service will face a gradual ramp-down of the operations capacity and data offering from July 2023 until September 2023.

As from September 2023 some Sentinel-2A and Sentinel-2B Level 2A products belonging to old processing baselines (< 05.00) will gradually be no longer accessible through the Data Hub interfaces. Please note that some desynchronisation may be expected in the catalogue records for this data and download attempts might result in an error.

Users are encouraged to register and access the new Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem which allows access to the full Sentinel data offer.
